Handmade greetings card: “Die cut sugar skull, day of the dead”

Description A slightly darker subject matter than my usual handmade greetings cards, this one features a striking cut of a ‘sugar skull’, commonly associated with the Mexican festival ‘Day of the Dead’ during which deceased loved ones are remembered and honoured. I love the intricacy of this cutting die, and when teamed up with really good quality silver-white card it makes a stunning cut. Beneath the skull I’ve fixed some glorious fancy paper printed with a pattern of blues and lilacs overlaid with coppery foil. This paperstock comes from a small booklet that only contains two sheets of each pattern, so every card will be different. The skull is fixed to a jet black greetings card and is left blank for your own message. You’ll need a metallic or white marker to write inside the card. The card measures 12.5×12.5cm and is supplied with a white envelope, in a cellophane bag for protection.
